News reports - WTO Rules Against China on Auto Parts

News reports indicate that the WTO Panel established to look into a complaint by the U.S., Canada and the E.C. regarding a Chinese tariff on auto parts has issued an interim ruling condemning the tariff.  The three complaining countries had argued that the Chinese tariff was improper since it taxed auto parts at the same rate as foreign-made finished cars.   If the reports are accurate, it would be the first succesful WTO case brought against China's trade practices.  Once the final ruling is released China can appeal the decision to the Appelate Body.
