Canada-Peru FTA Enters into Force August 1, 2009

On August 1, 2009, the Canada-Peru Free Trade Agreement entered into force and effect.  As a result, as of August 1, 2009, two way trade between Canada and Peru becomes duty free on a significant percentage of the trade.

Labour and Environmental Cooperation Agreements also entered into force on August 1, 2009.  The provisions in the Labour and Environmental Cooperation Agreements surpass other free trade agreements (including those of the United States).
